Technical Upgrade Option
A Technical Upgrade is a low cost option to get to the latest Dynamics and SQL Server version for your generation release. For earlier Generation 2 or 3 users it also opens the possibility to move to a Cloud/Hosted platform. Re-Start Upgrade Option
If you want to standardise ALL your code but also KEEP ALL your data then a Re-Start Upgrade is the option for you. Any feature GAP Fits can be addressed by Events, Extensions or ISV addons as appropriate. This can be performed from Generation 1 to Generation 2 or within Generation 2 versions.
Re-Deploy Upgrade Option
If a fresh start is what is needed then with a Re-Deploy Upgrade only selected data will be migrated and ALL objects (Tables and Code) will revert to standard Dynamics. Any feature GAP Fits can be addressed by Events, Extensions or ISV addons as appropriate. This can be performed from Generation 1 to Generation 2 or within Generation 2 versions.
Full Upgrade Option
If you like what you have and just want to future proof or avail of new features then a Full Upgrade is what’s needed. We will of course first review your installation and advise if any of your customisations are redundant, now standard features or have ISV addon alternative offerings. This can be performed from Generation 1 to Generation 2 or within Generation 2 versions.
