10 years after its release, the date is fast approaching when NAV 2009 will become an “end of life” product. At the end of this year, Extended Support for NAV 2009 will officially come to an end.
In 2015 Microsoft ended Mainstream Support for NAV 2009. This meant that from then on there were no more feature updates, so NAV 2009 customers were not able to avail of enhancements such as SEPA compliance or Making Tax Digital.
When Extended Support ends next January this means that Microsoft will not be releasing any more security updates, hotfixes or patches for that version of NAV. From then on any NAV clients using 2009 will be running on a product that is out of support/warranty with Microsoft and will be vulnerable to any new threats that target Microsoft technology.
To avoid your business being exposed to these threats, we recommend any NAV 2009 (or older) customers start the process of looking at an upgrade. With an upgrade you have many new feature enhancements, peace of mind with a product on a new 10-year warranty and can move your Dynamics solution to the Azure Cloud if you wish.
Talk to Simply Dynamics today to discuss the benefits of moving to Dynamics 365 and the Dynamics roadmap and rebranding of NAV by Microsoft. We offer a fixed price quote and can host your solution either on-premise or in the Cloud.
